It was much more challenging than I thought. I didn't expect God to use us during our 'bad' concerts. One aspect I'll never forget is how God used concerts which our team thought weren't as good to reach more people than the concerts we thought were great. God used our weaknesses to make His strength perfect.
Each summer we mobilize several "short-term" teams that train for two weeks and then spend four weeks abroad, working with established ministries such as YFCI (Youth For Christ International) and YWAM (Youth With A Mission). Our summer missions trips are divided into two rounds, usually consisting of two or three teams per round.
The dates for our Summer 2013 missions trips are:
Round 1 - June 4 - July 13
Round 2 - July 3 - August 14
The dates for our Summer 2014 missions trips are:
Round 1 - June - July
Round 2 - July - August
They give concerts in which they share the love of Christ with young people in the host culture and connect them with our ministry partners and the local church. The teams go at the invitation of our hosts. They support the efforts of our partner ministry through their focus on servanthood by modeling the example of Jesus, who did not come to be served, but to serve. Summer participants grow in Christian character and servant posture, deepen their understand of the Great Commission, and learn to actively share their faith.
Are you ready to re-visit the essentials of the Gospel, learn anew what it really means to be a servant, and develop an openness and a sensitivity to foreign cultures?
